Ocean drops

Eyes slow.
Pulled open, poured in, swallowed down
Liquid caramel,
Awake.

It’s a stretch at first.
Breaking the muscles.
Cricks and creaks,
Followed by a gentle sigh.

Cutting the water
Trails of breath left behind
Sun overhead, foam above
Cold green life.

Peace.
Swish, arm over arm
Back up, legs together,
Tranquil.

Staring down a translucent mouth
Breath held
My heart pounds
I glide, dreams made of flying.

It’s just one morning,
Spread in loops of happiness.
A moment of calm in my day.
Alone with the drops of an ocean.
